LOSTOCK AC's Rachel Hancock continued the festive racing season with a spirited run at the Bolton Bauble 5k trail race.

Starting and finishing at the Woodland Trust Walker Fold Road car park, and following a challenging route over Smithills Estate and some of Bolton's most beautiful  moorland, Hancock continued her recovery from injury with a race that saw her finish 14th overall, fourth woman and first in her age category in a time of 35mins 5secs.

The latest round of the South Ribble Orienteering Club's winter street league in Garstang saw another strong showing from the Lostock team.

Mark Sammon and Matt Withers finished seventh overall and were the first pair in the 75-minute race, with Albert Sunter coming home in eighth position.

The 60-minute race saw Tony Marlow finish in second place, Josie Greenhalgh and partner Darren Barker coming in fourth and first pair in the same race.

Park run results: Bolton – Anthony Maxwell 26:58; Haigh Hall – Andy Laycock 24:48, Gareth Pratt 25:11.

Lostock AC continues the festive spirit on Sunday with its annual Mince Pie run around Rivington Pike and Two Lads.
