TOP female duo Gwen Kinloch and Anne Ferguson put in fine performances in the Northern Masters Cross Country Championships.

The Burnden Road Runners ladies took on the 5k undulating course at Spenborough AC close to Liversedge in Yorkshire.

Kinloch finished third F60, and seventh overall, in a time of 26:03, followed very closely by Ferguson, who came home in a time of 26:14 and was fourth F60 (eighth overall).

Andy Warburton was the sole member in the men’s race, covering 8.5k on the same course. He finished in a time of 46:53.

Andy Duffy finished eighth in his category, the MV55s, at the Blackburn Winter warmer 10k in a time of 44:11.

In the Sunday Merseyside Cross Country League the Burnden men, pictured, fared well on a very soggy course at Croxteth Park in Liverpool. Leading the way was captain Paul Duke in 36th, followed by Dave Smith (136th), Gareth Lowe (202nd) and Trevor Eagle (228th).
