WANDERERS fans may have to wait a little while before seeing on-loan winger Anthony Georgiou in action.

The Cyprus international agreed to join the Whites on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season on deadline day – but has stayed in North London to monitor a minor injury problem.

Keith Hill believes Georgiou will make an impact, offering an option which has been missing since Thibaud Verlinden returned to Stoke City last month.

But he was not a part of the squad which went to Coventry City on Saturday, nor will he be in the group which will face Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium tomorrow night.

“He isn’t with us yet,” Hill said on Friday. “It’s a good deal we have done with Tottenham and Anthony himself and I’m really looking forward to the prospect of working together but at this moment in time he won’t be with us until next week.

“It was a win-win for Bolton and Tottenham, he was the type we wanted but he wasn’t quite fit enough after returning from his loan spell with Ipswich.

“He will definitely play but at this moment we’re liaising with Tottenham and he should be with us at some stage next week.”
