DONCASTER boss Darren Moore believes his players will be unaffected by any lingering resentment over the club’s postponed game against Bolton Wanderers earlier this season.

Anger flared at the Keepmoat Stadium when Wanderers’ administrators cancelled a home game against Doncaster in August without giving adequate notice.

Bolton claimed they could not jeopardise the welfare of players aged 16, 17 and 18, who were being asked to play a third senior game in 10 days.

The overspill continued until January when the EFL failed to overturn an independent disciplinary verdict that Bolton should not be docked more points this season, should receive a fine, and that the game should be rescheduled.

Moore believes his club has moved on, telling the Doncaster Free Press: “I think we’re professional.

“The game is here and what has gone on has gone on. We’ve moved past that now and we’re just focusing on the game in hand and what will be a hotly contested game.

“There are three points available and both teams will be trying to get those.

“It won’t have much impact on the game because we’re professional in both camps.

“I’m speaking on behalf of us as a club, there’s nothing we can do about it. We’re just focused on the game.

“On the pitch, we’ll be ultra-professional and we’ll just see the game as the game.

“We won’t see the game as the occasion it could be off the field.

“We’ll just see it as two teams going head to head for the win. Hopefully it’ll be a good entertaining match.”
