Richard Pollitt led home a large contingent of Burnden Road Runners at this year’s Lostock 6 road race.

In doing so Richard knocked off an impressive two minutes from his time on the same course last year.

The race that takes in the roads and lanes around Lostock, Chew Moor and Chorley New Road also saw age category victories for Steve Nolan (M60), Phil Glassbrook (M75) and Anne Ferguson(F60).

On the previous day, three members took part in the Standish trail 10k.

In soggy underfoot conditions the trio were led home by an in-form Paul Duke who claimed a top 10 finish in a time of 42:07.

The race also saw a return to racing for Andy Dunleavy who was third in the M60 category in a time of 50:49.

Completing the trio was Cheryl Dunleavy who came home in a time of 1:18:30.

Mark Jackson returned to the scene of his triumphs last year to claim second place in the Winter Hill 5k.

Mark finished in a great time of 23:57 in not very favourable conditions.

Also finishing the race was the ever-improving Tracy Berry who finished in a time of 47:28.
