ATHERTON Collieries will be in the pink at this weekend’s game, thanks to a three-way collaboration with Bands FC and rising band Lottery Winners.

To coincide with the imminent release of Lottery Winners’ self-titled debut album, Colls will be sporting a limited edition collaboration kit for this Saturday’s match at home to Grantham Town.

The Leigh-based indie band will also be performing some tunes from their album, released on Friday March 13, in the clubhouse after the Grantham Town game.

Manufactured by Hope and Glory Sportswear, the limited edition kit combines the pink tone from the album cover and mixes it with Colls’ traditional black stripes, topped off with a crest designed by renowned football/music mash-up specialists Bands FC.

The crest, designed by Bands FC, celebrates the links between Colls and Lottery Winners and takes centre stage on the jersey for one game only.

The Bolton News:

The iconic ‘Pride of Atherton’ slogan remains, while a colliery wheel has been added to the bottom of the squad numbers.

While the outfield players will be pretty in pink, goalkeeper Paddy Wharton’s one-off kit references one of the band’s most popular tracks, Hawaii, and features a green floral design.

Lottery Winners lead singer, Thom Rylance, said: “We’re honoured to have Atherton Collieries play in a Lottery Winners kit. It was insane to us when Bands FC made the badge, and now there’s a full kit.

“We’ve had some insane experiences recently, with some massive gigs and festivals, but this is extra special to us. I think the local support people have for each other where we live is second to none. We look after each other, we want each other to succeed and we’ve got each other’s backs – bear that in mind when you consider ordering our debut album and helping us get in the charts.”
