BOLTON darts star Lisa Ashton is to take part in a unique darts tournament.

The four-time women’s world champion will take her place in the PDC Home Tour which sees players competing against each other from home with action brought direct from the living rooms of the game’s top stars.

The Lancashire Rose, the first woman to win a pro tour card, is in Group Four and will take on Ross Smith, Mickey Mansell and Geert Nentjes on Monday night, April 20.

Matches will be played via video call and streamed on the PDC’s website as well as by several bookmakers.

There will be an initial 32 consecutive nights of action starting tomorrow, Friday, with world champion Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright kicking off an event designed to give fans a sporting fix during the coronavirus pandemic.

The winners of each night will then progress to the second phase of the competition.

Ashton’s opposition sees her take on 2019 UK Open quarter-finalist Smith, former Players Championship event winner Mansell and top Dutch talent Nentjes.

Each night’s action begins at 7.30pm.
