FORMER Bolton Wanderers frontman Adam Le Fondre is being linked with a return to England.
The 33-year-old has scored 18 goals for Sydney FC this season to lead the way in the Australian A-League in front of goal.
League One sides Sunderland and Portsmouth are among those interest in Le Fondre according to the Daily Mail.
A move to the Stadium of Light would see the former Reading, Rotherham and Rochdale man reunited with his former Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson.
Le Fondre made 75 appearances and scored 21 goals for the Whites spending two spells on loan before joining permanently in the summer of 2017.
He headed Down Under in August 2018 and has been prolific for the Sky Blues.
Wanderers have already strengthened their striking ranks under new head coach Ian Evatt with the signing of League Two’s top marksman last season, Eoin Doyle.
