BOLTON Wanderers are moving towards a fully digital season ticket operation, the club have announced.

The Whites have released some information to supporters ahead of prices being revealed for the 2020/21 season on Monday, when tickets will go on sale.

The club have outlined a commitment to phasing out the physical season card following the introduction of digital ticketing last season.

All season tickets issues for 2020/21 will be e-tickets although those wishing to get a season card can opt for one at an additional cost of £10 per card.

Digital season tickets can be stored on phones using Apple Wallet or Google Play.

The move to digital means that for the time being at least that season tickets will only be able to be purchased online due to the restrictions around the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wanderers are also asking that all those who would normally sit together at the UniBol purchase their tickets in one transaction to ensure families and ‘bubbles’ are together when supporters are allowed into the stadium.

Wanderers said: “Going fully digital opens up access to a host of benefits for both the club and our supporters.

“Digital tickets will directly improve the supporter experience by giving easier access to tickets, storing their tickets on their device of choice.

“With the added flexibility, ease and security that this brings, digital tickets are the future of live football at the University of Bolton Stadium as we begin our 'Return to Live' plan.”

Also, season ticket holders who have paid using direct debits in the past will not automatically renew and this option needs to be selected when purchasing.

In relation to last season’s season tickets and the games not used Wanderers have praised those who did not take up the option of a refund.

The club said: “The club would like to thank everybody who took part in the survey regarding refunds from last season.

“The overwhelming majority of you opted to waive your right to a pro-rata refund and we are truly grateful to you.

“We also would like to inform supporters who requested a pro-rata refund that these will be processed in due course.

“We appreciate your continued patience and we thank you for your continued support.”
