WANDERERS were the hottest ticket in town yesterday as fans flocked to secure their seats for next season’s promotion push.

More than 1,600 season tickets had been sold as The Bolton News went to press – with supporters showing their eagerness to join the Ian Evatt revolution.

Starved of football for the last five months, Bolton fans snapped up season tickets in double-quick time yesterday to leave the club’s IT system straining under the pressure.

Wanderers fans’ show of faith is made even more impressive considering the relative lack of information on exactly when they will be able to attend games at the UniBol this season.

It is hoped that games will only be played behind closed doors until early October when a phased return of crowds will be given the thumbs-up by the EFL and Government, subject to medical advice.

Based on a 23-game season, an adult season ticket for the North Stand Upper is around five per cent cheaper than it was last season.

It is understood, however, that Wanderers expect to strike a deal with the EFL to stream any home games missed to season ticket holders as part of the package. Conversations are also taking place on whether away games will be offered via the internet in the short of medium-term.

Members of the Lifeline lottery also receive a five per cent discount on their ticket, which brings the cost down to £11.39 per game (before the early purchase deadline).

Over-75s tickets are priced at £174 in all areas of the ground, with over-65s £191 in the North Stand, and £219 in both tiers of the East and West Stands.

Under-23s tickets are also £174 in all areas, with Under-18s priced at £69 and Under-12s at £51.

An adult and child family ticket is £304 in the North Upper, while a family of four (two adults, two children) will cost £608.

Prices will increase after September 6 – and Evatt is hoping fans will get value for their money as his side gun for an immediate return to League One.

“We have worked hard over the summer to build a team that will be ready to challenge for promotion back to Sky Bet League One,” he said.

“Although it’s been a tough time for everybody during the pandemic, the excitement I’ve seen and heard from our supporters, who are so passionate about Bolton Wanderers, has been astonishing.

“Your support this season will be as crucial as ever as we rebuild Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

“The players know about the history of this great club and will wear the badge with pride every time they step onto the pitch.

“We would like you to Join the revolution and get behind the lads this season. We are one club, one community, one town.”

Season ticket holders who have paid by Direct Debit will NOT automatically renew as has been the case in previous seasons and will need to opt for this method of payment when completing their online renewal or new purchase.

The Direct Debit scheme will spread the cost of a season ticket over eight months, with the first payment taken on September 15 and the remaining seven payments taken on the first working day of each subsequent month.

The deadline to pay via the Direct Debit scheme will be close of business on Sunday, September 6. New for the 2020/21 season, Direct Debit transactions will be processed by GoCardless.
