WANDERERS have been handed a home tie against Bradford City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The date of the game is yet to be confirmed but is most likely to be played on Saturday, September 5 unless international call-ups require it to be rescheduled.
It will be Ian Evatt’s first competitive game in charge – and will also see new signing Eoin Doyle face his former employers.
Wanderers have faced Bradford 48 times in all competitions, winning 17, drawing 17 and losing 14.
Their last meeting was in last season’s EFL Trophy, which ended in a penalty shootout defeat after Dennis Politic had scored in a 1-1 draw.
The last time the two sides met in the League Cup was September 1976 when Neil Whatmore scored twice in a 2-1 win at Valley Parade.
