CHARLIE Adam is being linked with a move to Dundee after his spell training with Wanderers came to an end.

The Bolton News understands that his stint with former Blackpool team-mate and Whites head coach Ian Evatt at Lostock is over as he looks for a club ahead of the new season.

The 34-year-old played in Bolton’s friendly defeat to Wigan last Tuesday but was not part of the squad that went down 3-0 against Crewe at the University of Bolton Stadium on Friday night.

Now the former Stoke and Liverpool man is a reported target for Dundee, his hometown club who he supports.

Adam, who has 26 caps for his country, has not played in Scotland since leaving Rangers for Blackpool in 2009.

He is a free agent after leaving Reading at the end of last season.

Speaking to The Bolton News earlier this month, Evatt said that however long the arrangement was, having Adam around his relatively inexperienced squad could only be beneficial.

He said: “We have got a pretty young group, so for them to see how Charlie manages himself in training, the high standards he sets for himself, can only help them along.

“He takes good care of himself and he has that elite mentality and attitude to his profession which can only improve players around him.”
