WANDERERS have announced a surprise signing 90 minutes before today’s kick-off against Bradford City.

Shaun Miller, the 32-year-old former Crewe and Sheffield United striker, becomes the 17th new addition to the squad this summer.

He will provide instant competition for Eoin Doyle and Nathan Delfouneso in the attacking department – but The Bolton News understands that Evatt is still on the lookout for another player to boost his goalscoring options.

Miller spent last season on loan at Morecambe, playing alongside another of Bolton’s new arrivals, Andy Tutte, and has more than 400 league appearances under his belt.

He said: “I am really chuffed to be here at such a brilliant club.

“I trained last week and I am really pleased to get it over the line.

“It’s a massive club and has the ambition to try and bounce back.

“I wanted to be part of it and I’m really looking forward to the big kick off.”

Evatt is set to put him straight into the squad against Bradford in the Cararbao Cup.

He added: “We are pleased to bring in Shaun who is another experienced player that is used to winning games at this level.

“Shaun is a centre forward who can stretch the opposition as well as link up play.

“He has an excellent character and we are looking forward to having him on board.”
