TRANMERE Rovers have added to their contingency of former Bolton Wanderers players by snapping up Liam Feeney on loan.

The 34-year-old moves to Prenton Park from Blackpool having made 42 appearances last season.

He has failed to feature in the League One squad since the restart, however, and has opted to join Jay Spearing and Kaiyne Woollery at Tranmere for the rest of the season.

Feeney initially joined Wanderers on loan from Millwall in September 2013, playing four games, but was called back by his parent club and loaned out to Blackburn.

He eventually signed a permanent deal with the Whites in May 2014 and spent two years with the club, making 88 appearances and scoring eight goals.

He also had a short spell on loan with Ipswich during that time, and re-joined Blackburn after leaving Bolton in the summer of 2016.
