LLOYD Isgrove is hoping his arrival can reignite some promotion talk at Wanderers.

The former Swindon Town man lifted the League Two trophy last year and wants to have a positive effect on a Bolton side which has experienced a dreadful start.

Winger Isgrove produced a bright cameo off the bench on Saturday, having been announced just an hour before kick-off, and with Ian Evatt pledging to make changes for the trip to Harrogate, the former Southampton man could be in line for a full debut.

“I think I had a good season, played a lot of games,” he said. “I feel like coming here we can do that again because it’s such a big club, and it would be nice to get another promotion on the CV.

“If we’re going to do it the team will need togetherness. You have to be a tight group on and off the pitch, work hard for each other, and I know there’s quality in the team. That will hopefully show on a Saturday.

“I’m just hoping to come in and really help the team as much as I can.”

Isgrove will link-up with his former County Ground team-mate Eoin Doyle, who is yet to get off the mark in a Bolton shirt.

Doyle scored 26 goals for Swindon last season and will hope Isgrove’s arrival can spark a similar upturn in form.

“I have been speaking to him and kept in touch with most of the lads over the summer, so when he messaged me and said there might be an opportunity to come here and play I jumped at it.

“We had a good relationship last season and I set him up a few times so I am sure he’s glad I’m here, as I am coming here to help him score a few goals as well. It’ll be a good relationship.”
