IAN Evatt will be up against Jurgen Klopp for best manager at this season’s Pitching In North West Football Awards.

The Wanderers boss has been recognised for his work at Barrow last season, where he led the Cumbrian side to the National League title against the odds.

Title-winner Klopp, Burnley’s Sean Dyche and Wigan’s Paul Cook complete the quartet of nominees in the digital ceremony, which will be held on November 9.

Wanderers’ Community Trust could also win a unique double in the 13th year of the awards.

After winning Community Club of the Year in 2019, the trust is once again up for the award alongside Preston North End.

Head of Community Trust, Phil Mason said “We are delighted to be a finalist for 2020 Community Club of the Year in recognition of the hard work that the staff and volunteers have carried out during an unprecedented year.

“Following on from having the honour of winning last year after a tough year for the club, in which we supported the club and community in every way we could we have tried hard to support our town again during the Covid Pandemic.

“Thanks to all who have given so generously to make this happen”.
