WANDERERS’ decision to pipe-in crowd noise could end up being a short-lived experiment.
Those who watched Saturday’s home defeat to Oldham Athletic heard a continual loop of crowd noise, which was brought in to give the team an extra motivation at the University of Bolton Stadium.
With no fans allowed inside the stadium, several players have admitted the lack of atmosphere has been a distraction during the last couple of months.
Listeners on radio and viewers on the iFollow platform also had mixed feelings about the noise, with several complaints read out on Bolton FM during the course of the commentary.
Wanderers have taken just one draw from their first six home games of this season and have not won at the UniBol in their previous eight attempts.
“We were just trying to change it up,” Evatt said of the crowd noise. “We were just trying to change the cycle of us coming here and disappointing, because we have been disappointing here, there’s no two ways about it.
“We tried something different but it didn’t work.”
