THE Bolton Whites Hotel has joined dozens of local businesses across Bolton supporting Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford’s campaign to ensure no child goes hungry over half term.

The hotel, based at the University of Bolton Stadium, will be offering free meals to dine in, or takeaway, for children who qualify for free school meals over next week’s half term, from Monday to Friday.

Announcing the scheme, in conjunction with the BWFC Community Trust, a tweet from Bolton Wanderers said: "No child should go hungry. Bolton Whites Hotel will provide meals to any children who are entitled to free school meals in Bolton during half term. Call 01204 673610 for more information.

“It's available all next week during half term, Monday to Friday. People need to call and book in advance. Can either take away or dine inside.”

MPs voted on Wednesday against a Labour motion to offer free school meals during holidays until Easter 2021 by 322 votes to 261.

England international Rashford spearheaded a campaign in the summer to supply free school meal vouchers, which led to a U-turn from the government.
