WANDERERS struck back to claim a point at Cambridge thanks to Antoni Sarcevic’s third goal of the season.

The captain equalised after Billy Crellin’s own goal to earn well-deserved point at the Abbey Stadium but how did the players rate?

Chief football writer Marc Iles gives his assessment.

WANDERERS (3-4-1-2)

BILLY CRELLIN…4.

There’s no getting around the error he made, nor the fact it cost Bolton a foothold in a game they never looked like losing. Manager has laid down the challenge. What’s the reaction?

ALEX BAPTISTE…7.

Criticised on Tuesday night after his recall, this is the kind of solid and organised display that makes Evatt want to get the experienced defender in his side.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.5.

You might argue that Baptiste and Delaney did the dirty work but Santos stepped in on the rare occasions their defences were breached with perfect timing. Growing into this role.

RYAN DELANEY…7.

Made Cambridge’s top scorer Mullin a virtual bystander. Kudos to the whole defensive unit but another feather in the cap of the Irishman.

PETER KIOSO…6.5.

Maybe a touch less effective going forward than he was over his first two games but still an important cog in the chain.

ANTONI SARCEVIC…7.5 MOM.

Shades Santos by a millimetre by virtue of the goal and his reaction to going a goal down. Starting to look like the captain Bolton need him to be.

ANDY TUTTE…7.

Got through 90 minutes and did it with minimum fuss. Tidy on the ball, won his fair share of second balls, and kept the midfield shape well.

HARRY BROCKBANK…7.

Anyone doubting his ability to play down the left flank really must watch his work at the Abbey Stadium. Up and down, should have had a goal to his name.

ALI CRAWFORD…6.5.

Not quite his best work but there were moments of sumptuous class from the Scot on the ball. His eye for a pass is way above anything in the Bolton squad.

EOIN DOYLE…6.

Worked hard in the first half and even after he’d picked up the hamstring strain played a part in the Brockbank goal that should have stood.

NATHAN DELFOUNESO…7.

Nobody better at dropping into space and running at players. New dad Delfouneso produced arguably his most encouraging performance in a Bolton shirt so far.
