LUTON boss Nathan Jones has threatened to recall Peter Kioso from his loan at Wanderers if his squad’s injury issues do not improve.

Sheffield United loanee Rhys Norrington-Davies failed to start the second half of Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Brentford after picking up a hamstring problem.

And with Dan Potts and James Bree also in the Hatters’ treatment room, Martin Crainie is the club’s only fit full-back.

Wanderers’ hopes of keeping Kioso could rest of a scan on Norrington-Davies’ hamstring early this week. If the Wales international has suffered significant damage, Jones says he will have no choice but to bring the youngster back from the University of Bolton Stadium.

“At this rate I’ll 100 per cent call Peter Kioso back,” he said after Saturday’s game. “But that wasn’t the reason we let him go. A lot of things have happened in the meantime, but yeah, 100 per cent.”

Kioso - who signed on a season-long loan - has impressed for Wanderers in his five appearances thus far, scoring in the 3-3 draw against Barrow.

Jak Hickman is the only fit right-back at Ian Evatt’s disposal but Gethin Jones is making good progress on his return from an ankle injury and returned to light training duties last week.
