Gordon Sharrock tells some tales of life covering Wanderers
It’s Monday, which means we’ve got another episode of The Buff Extra.
This week, Marc Iles is joined by a man who knows a little bit about his job, ex-Bolton News chief football writer Gordon Sharrock.
Gordon retired in 2015 after a distinguished 45-year career in local newspapers, 30 of those spent covering Wanderers.
He reported on two historic European campaigns, not including the Anglo-Italian Cup, and on nine showpiece games at Wembley and Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.
