PETER Kioso has been ruled out of Wanderers’ trip to Cheltenham Town with a shoulder injury.

The wing-back tweaked ligaments during Saturday’s defeat at Port Vale but is not expected to be out of action for long.

Ian Evatt also confirmed striker Arthur Gnahoua is out for a number of weeks with a shoulder dislocation – although he will see a specialist this week to determine exactly how much damage has been done.

Lloyd Isgrove is also available to face Cheltenham after testing negative for coronavirus, having pulled out of the squad with a sickness bug at the weekend.

“Lloyd tested negative for Covid-19, so he’s fit and available,” Evatt said. “We have lost Arthur, he dislocated his shoulder on Saturday, so he’s out. And we have also lost Peter Kioso who damaged his shoulder first half – but it’s not a dislocation, it’s more of the ligament. He should be available for Saturday because we can put some sort of painkilling steroid in there which will settle it down in time for the weekend.”

Isgrove could come in for his first league start for the club, with Ali Crawford the most likely player to give way.

Calls for Crawford to be dropped have intensified after the weekend defeat at Walsall but Evatt says he will make up his own mind.

“If I picked teams from social media reaction I’d be slightly worried,” he said. “I think Sharon (Brittan) would too," he said.

“I tend not to pay much attention to social media.

“Lloyd would have been involved on Saturday and he probably would have been involved. He isn’t ill now, so it gives us an opportunity to take a look at things.

“But, on Ali, all players go through good and bad spells, no matter what their age, It goes quickly.

“Ricardo Santos was player of the month, then we concede six and some people think he’s become the worst player in history.

“That is the fickleness of the game and the emotional reaction of supporters that you can’t pay attention to. I have firm belief in my players from Rico (Santos), to Ali, to everyone else."
