THE January exodus has begun at Wanderers as George Taft joined League Two rivals Scunthorpe United on loan.
The centre-half, who signed a two-year deal in July after leaving Cambridge United, has struggled to make an impression on Ian Evatt’s first team this season.
After being named in the new manager’s first two line-ups against Bradford City and Crewe, he dropped out of contention and managed to feature in just one league game, against Newport.
Taft will play under ex-Bolton player Neil Cox at Glanford Park and goes straight into their squad for this weekend’s home game against Bradford.
Evatt is looking to clear some space for new signings and is expected to bring in Wales defender Declan John before the end of the week.
Further departures are expected as the Bolton boss freshens up his squad, in what could be a busy January transfer window.
