WANDERERS have confirmed the signing of two players just 90 minutes before kick-off against Cheltenham Town.

Huddersfield Town full-back Ben Jackson and versatile Lincoln City attacker Zack Elbouzedi will be part of the squad to face the Robins at the University of Bolton Stadium after joining the club on loan for the rest of the season.

Terriers academy product Jackson has started in the Championship this season, playing for Huddersfield against Norwich in September, and has also made two appearances in the cup competitions.

The 19-year-old caught Ian Evatt’s attention, however, playing in the National League last season for Stockport County.

Jackson, who signed a new 18-month deal with his parent club at the start of the year, has also had time on loan at Darlington and can play any position on the left flank.

“Ben has been doing well at Huddersfield and has already played in the Championship this season,” said manager Ian Evatt.

“He can play in a number of positions but left-back is primarily his role, which gives us competition for Declan and others.

“He’s quick and good with the ball.”

Elbouzedi can play in any of the attacking positions and has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level.

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at West Brom but got his professional break in Scotland with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, moving in 2019 to Ireland with Waterford.

There, he caught the eye of Lincoln boss Michael Appleton, becoming his first signing in January this year.

“Zack is a player who I have monitored for a good length of time,” said Evatt. “Lincoln are flying at the moment and have some very good players in his position. As a result of their form Zack has struggled for game time.

“He’s a player with electric pace, is a match winner and gives us more options in the forward areas of the pitch."
