SALFORD City have completed the signing of defender Tom James on loan from Scottish side Hibernian.

The right-back joins until the end of the season having spent the first half of the campaign at League One club Wigan Athletic.

James came through the academy at Cardiff City and made his professional debut for the club on the final day of the 2013/14 season – a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea once the club’s relegation was already confirmed.

He completed a permanent move to Yeovil Town in 2017 and made just shy of 100 appearances for them in two-and-a-half seasons before moving north of the border to Hibernian.

SIMON Power has signed for League Two outfit Harrogate Town on a permanent deal.

The Ireland Under-21s has joined from Norwich City, having been on the books at Carrow Road since January 2018.

First-team opportunities were few and far between for the 22-year-old winger at the Canaries, where he lined out for David Wright’s U23s, and he then spent stints on loan at Dutch side FC Dordrecht, Scotland’s Ross County and King’s Lynn Town (twice).

FORMER Colchester United goalkeeper Dillon Barnes has a new club.

The 24-year-old has signed for League One outfit Burton Albion on loan from Queens Park Rangers, for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
