CHARLTON are hoping to steal a march in the race for Exeter starlet Joel Randall.

Randall is also wanted by Swansea and Celtic but Lee Bowyer's side have lined up an opening move worth in the region of £300,000 for the exciting attacker.

The 21-year-old, who can play on both flanks and also centrally, has been Exeter's star performer this season, scoring eight goals and setting up five more in 26 games.

Tynecastle officials have made contact with counterparts in the West Midlands about a transfer as they look to strengthen their forward line this month.

However, Walsall want a fee for the 23-year-old who is out of contract this summer. It remains to be seen if the clubs can reach an agreement before the January transfer window closes.

The 36-year-old joined the Shrimpers on a short-term contract in December and scored on his debut against Grimsby.

JACKSON Longridge has returned to Livingston after the left-back was allowed to leave Bradford City.

The 25-year-old, who spent three years with the West Lothian club, has signed a two-and-a-half year contract.

Longridge joined Bradford from Dunfermline Athletic in 2019 but played the last of his five games this season for the League Two club in November.

WYCOMBE Wanderers midfielder Nick Freeman has joined Leyton Orient on loan until the end of the season.

Freeman, 25, has featured eight times for the Chairboys in all competitions this season and played in last season's League One play-off final.

He could make his Orient debut at home against Forest Green on Saturday.
