NORWICH City have swooped to sign highly-rated Wanderers academy graduate Regan Riley for a six-figure fee.

The Canaries are reported to have paid £250,000 to Bolton for the 18-year-old, who has made just one senior appearances for his hometown club.

Riley impressed after coming on as a substitute in the Papa John’s Trophy against Shrewsbury Town with Ian Evatt claiming afterwards that he had produced “Premier League class” data in some of his performances for the youth team this season.

Wanderers are understood to have inserted sell-on clauses into Riley’s contract and turned down an offer from Premier League side Brighton.

Meanwhile, Ali Crawford could yet leave Wanderers for League Two rivals Tranmere Rovers before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

An offer from ex-Bolton boss Keith Hill has been made, with the Scot now mulling over whether to leave for Prenton Park.

Bolton have just signed Marcus Maddison on loan from Charlton Athletic, which could further limit the number of first team opportunities on offer for the former Doncaster Rovers man.
