OTHER than the ubiquitous documentary makers, the television cameras will be nowhere to be seen as Wanderers look to complete a double against Salford City tomorrow.

Back in November, fans watched a televised treat as Bolton executed Ian Evatt’s gameplan to the letter in what remains their most convincing performance of the campaign.

Bolton's dominance on the night is unlikely to make the edit when the next series of Class of 92 is put together but the Whites will be looking for something similar this weekend at the  Peninsula Stadium.

Chances of success may also depend on the inclement weather, with Salford seeing their midweek game against Colchester United postponed.

Evatt, whose side travelled to Mansfield only to be told the rain largely predicted in that neck of the woods had indeed fallen from the sky, believes his team may have to find an extra gear this time around.

“You can’t be one dimensional but that night we showed we could do a different side of the game,” he said. “We sacrificed a lot of possession, more than I tend to like, but we understood where they could hurt us and where they couldn’t. We got that balance right on the night.

“I don’t remember them hurting us for all the possession they had but they have evolved since then and we need to come up with a plan that works just as well because I think this will be really challenging.

“They have got a raft of good, talented players and we don’t really know what individuals are going to play or what formations they are going to play because they have been quite adaptable and changed things around a lot.”

Evatt managed to wreck his opposite number Richie Wellens’ first league game in charge of the Ammies back in November but believes his old mate has fashioned a promotion-worthy side with the ample funds supplied by the Salford ownership.

“I know Richie very well and we did our coaching badges together,” he said. “I know he’ll be highly motivated to beat us and put things right after the previous game and they have big ambitions to get promoted.

“I know it will be a really tough game for us but it’s one I am looking forward to. The players we brought in this week have lifted the whole place.”
