THE Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust will be donating a quarter of its future subscription fees towards a charity which funds vital projects at the club.

It was announced today that an agreement has been struck between the trust and the Bolton Wanderers Development Association – an independent body which raises money from the Goldline and Lifeline Lotteries – to pass on 25 per cent of the money it raises from membership.

The BWDA has ploughed millions into key capital projects over the last couple of decades, from the indoor training ground ‘bubble’ at and gym refurbishments at Lostock to improving supporter facilities inside the stadium and the ‘significant moments’ plaque close to the Nat Lofthouse statue.

All funds raised are ring-fenced from the club itself and cannot be used to pay expenses such as wages or transfer fees.

Wanderers have also got behind a drive for membership to the Supporters’ Trust with chief operating officer Andrew Gartside adding: “We have a great relationship with the Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust and we are very grateful for their contribution to the Bolton Wanderers Development Association.

“The BWDA continues its fantastic work in supporting the club on a number of vital projects through the funds it generates via the Lifeline and Goldline lotteries.

“The club looks forward to a long-lasting relationship between all parties which will be a benefit to the club going forward.”

Trust chairman Terence Rigby added: “The goal of the trust is to assist the club wherever possible and especially in these difficult times and we are proud to be able to offer support to the (Bolton Wanderers) Development Association for all the great work they do.

“I urge you to sign up for the first time or re-register to pay as the more of you that do, the more we are able to donate.

“Individual and corporate members can sign up via the Supporters’ Trust website.”
