WANDERERS’ players won’t be allowed to get down in the dumps after victory slipped through their grasp at Bradford City.

Danny Rowe’s injury time strike dashed hopes of a seventh straight win – but Ian Evatt’s men remain unbeaten in their last nine.

The Bolton boss urged his players to shrug off any disappointment quickly and focus on the visit of high-flying Cambridge United on Tuesday night.

“There’s nothing else you can do really,” Evatt told The Bolton News. “You’ve got to just forget it. You have got to move on really quickly.

“They didn’t deserve that today. Sometimes you don’t always get what you deserve. We have had some fortunate late goals as well, so it evens itself out. We’ll just go again on Tuesday.”

After a relatively even first half, Wanderers took the game to Bradford after the break with chances falling to Eoin Doyle, Dapo Afolayan and Ricardo Santos.

Evatt believes the 90-minute display was the best Bolton have managed this season.

“We fancied it,” he said. “I’ve got to be honest. We fancy our chances against all the opposition at the moment because I know what the players are capable of.

“I thought we were outstanding. I think that’s the best we’ve played all season to be honest as a complete performance, other than the final third stuff. But it just feels like when we click into gear in that final third and we start making better decisions, someone’s going to get a bit of a pasting.

“But we have to take a lot of credit from how we’ve played today and their manager’s said to me after the game it’s the best team we’ve seen, so we’ll take credit from that and we’ll go again on Tuesday.”

Bradford joint-manager Mark Trueman applauded his players’ efforts in getting back on level terms.

"We showed that fight and desire late on in the game,” said Trueman.

"We have shown it the other way when we were defending leads but today we had to show our character to go and get a point against a very good team in Bolton.

"Credit to them and how they play, I thought both teams nullified each other for long periods of the game.

"It is just a shame the fans weren't there to see it. It is important you try and keep these unbeaten runs going, we are delighted with the point."
