WANDERERS (4-2-3-1).

MATT GILKS…7.5.

You can’t really fault the Wanderers keeper, who made a couple of superb saves to repel Newport on the rare occasions they broke through.

GETHIN JONES…7.

Worked hard up and down the right and got beyond the Exiles’ back line a few times to put good service into the penalty box.

RICARDO SANTOS…6.5.

Had a good tussle with Taylor and won plenty in the air. Still waiting to see him present that attacking threat at set pieces, though.

ALEX BAPTISTE…6.5.

He could/should have saved a point with the late header. Defensively he was strong again, restricting Newport to only a few efforts.

DECLAN JOHN…7.

Should probably have done better with a couple of the goalscoring chances he created but always looked a threat on the left.

GEORGE THOMASON…8.

Continues to show a maturity beyond his years, rarely wasting the ball and seeing passes others don’t. Is he pushing for an automatic start now?

MJ WILLIAMS…5.5.

A rare off day for Williams, who is usually a lot more efficient in possession than he was against Newport.

LLOYD ISGROVE…7.

Produced genuine quality from the right side with Jones and worked hard out of possession. Another who is pushing for more regular inclusion.

KIERAN LEE…6.

Pushed into the number 10 role and as economic with the ball as ever – but those missed chances were costly, no question about it.

NATHAN DELFOUNESO…5.5.

Another game goes by where he has not been a threat on goal. Linked up well at times but needs to impose himself more.

EOIN DOYLE…6.

Might be disappointed not to have buried that early volley in the back of the net. Always on his defender’s shoulder.
