ANTONI Sarcevic is on course to feature in the Wanderers squad against Morecambe this weekend.

The club captain has been out with a hamstring injury since limping out of a game at Port Vale last month.

Sarcevic is not scheduled to be in the squad to face Carlisle United but Ian Evatt says he is on course to play a part in the club’s last three games of the season.

“Definitely so,” the manager added. “He has trained with us this morning for part of the session and came through it fine.

“He is flying, he has been champing at the bit, he is moaning at the physio constantly, which is great. But, all being well, he will be available for Saturday.”

Elsewhere, Wanderers have no new injury issues but Evatt says he did have some strong words with his players after standards slipped at Grimsby on Saturday.

“Yesterday I had a long hard think to myself about which way do I go about this?” he said. “Do I just be positive and try and park it and move on to Tuesday and speak about us getting three points and being positive and jump back on the wagon, or do I tell them the truth and say that wasn’t good enough lads, it’s not acceptable?

“We are better than that and I went that way because I am always honest and I am always true to myself. They have been told some truths this morning and they understand them, they understand what’s needed, they understand our standards we are setting and if they dip below those standards, I am not shy in telling them.

“Hopefully, that sunk in and I think it has by the way they’re trained. They know what is required from these next four games to get this club to where I believe it deserves to be at the end of this season.

“Let’s see tomorrow night and let’s hope we get a reaction.”
