WANDERERS (4-2-3-1).

MATT GILKS…7.5.

Stood firm against an absolute barrage and made some important saves, albeit not spectacular ones. Heart in mouth at the end too, by the way.

GETHIN JONES…7.5.

Back to his reliable best. Linked up superbly with Isgrove on the right and put some good service into the penalty box.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.5.

Much more like it. After a tough day in Grimsby this was the swaggering Santos Bolton fans have come to know and love.

ALEX BAPTISTE…8.5.

Why we all worried so much about the European Super League I don’t know. We should have asked Alex Baptiste to head it away.

DECLAN JOHN…7.

Was really effective in the first half in a timely return to form but picked up a worrying injury to limp off after an hour.

GEORGE THOMASON…7.

Played some wonderful sweeping passes in a harem scarem midfield. Still learning on the job but maturing quickly.

MJ WILLIAMS…7.

Kept the ball as well as anyone and was an effective defensive wall whenever Carlisle decided to play on the floor, which wasn’t often.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…7.5.

Utterly unplayable early on. Kicked up in the air for 15 minutes either side of half time and eventually subbed to protect him.

KIERAN LEE…7.

Much more effective than he had been at the weekend but could he have got on the end of that cross from Declan?

LLOYD ISGROVE…7.5 A machine on the right, producing cross after cross. Never shirks his share of the workload, either, which was great to see.

EOIN DOYLE…7.5.

You can’t keep a good striker down. Had a tough fortnight but bounced back with a goal of predatory standard.

Subs: Brockbank 7, 57 (for John) – Joined the fight and did well.

Delfouneso 71 (for Afolayan) – Didn’t get much chance to attack.

Elbouzedi 75 (for Isgrove) – Like Delfouneso, pinned back.

Not used: Delaney, Tutte, Miller, Gnahoua.

Carlisle (4-3-3): Farman; Tanner, Hayden, McDonald, Arner; Riley, Guy, Mellish; Patrick, Kayode, Alessandra.

Subs: Anderton 9 (for McDonald), Furman 57 (for Riley), Toure 75 (for Patrick) Not used: Norman, Devine, Charters, Walker.

Referee: Martin Coy 6/10 – Turned down a decent shout for a penalty on Afolayan and failed to crack down on constant fouling of the West Ham loanee.
