WANDERERS are keeping their fingers crossed that Declan John will be cleared to play against Morecambe on Saturday.

The Welsh full-back limped out of the win against Carlisle United with a knee injury but Ian Evatt has not given up hope that he will recover in time to keep his place on the left side of defence.

“It is just a bang, a clash of knees, but where it hit is actually on the muscle which runs down the side of the knee,” he said.

“He has banged that and it is more of a dead leg than anything else. It is a little bit swollen but we are hopeful he will be okay.”

Wanderers skipper Antoni Sarcevic has missed the last eight games with a hamstring injury but should be fit to play a part in the squad a Morecambe.

“Sarce is ready to go, no issues, he trained well today and will be involved,” Evatt added.

Elsewhere, the Whites are carrying a few minor issues after the rough and tumble of the Carlisle victory but Evatt hopes he should have a full squad to pick from on the day.

“We have just got bumps and bruises,” said the Wanderers boss. “It was a physical game, more from them than us. But we’ve got a few dead legs, a few bangs but nothing muscular so we’ll see how they settle down, but I’m really hopeful that everyone will be okay.”
