Matt Gilks 7

Vocal as ever and had very little to do until a scramble in stoppage time where he denied Cole Stockton and then claimed the ball the bring a sigh of relief from the away bench.

Gethin Jones 7

Fired a shot out of the ground 30 minutes in and came a lot closer on the hour. Out of position in the first half for one Shrimps break but got up and down as ever.

Ricardo Santos 8

Always in the right place at the right time. One sprint in the first half to deny Stockton a run at goal got a standing ovation from the Wanderers bench. Sent a header just wide 15 minutes from time.

Alex Baptiste 8.5

Good block to deny Brad Lyons early on left him nursing a knock but he battled on for another fine display at the back capped by a goallline clearance late on. Nearly scored from distance late in the first half.

Ben Jackson 8.5

Excellent on his first appearance since the reverse fixture back in February. Had a stinging shot saved by Kyle Letheren before cutting across the face of the box to fire home in first-half stoppage time. Then went close again just before the hour.

MJ Williams 6

Enjoyed plenty of ball after red card, a direct game having bypassed him in the early stages. Took a nasty bang in the face late on.

Kieran Lee 6.5

Had a shot blocked at the end of first half that would have tested Letheren and while neat and tidy in possession, didn’t have a great influence on the game.

George Thomason 6.5

More to the fore once the visitors went a man down. Got on the ball more than most but a few too many passes went astray.

Lloyd Isgrove 7.5

Always an outlet and saw shots blocked and final passes let him down. Gave Gibson and then Hendrie problems all afternoon.

Dapo Afolayan 7

Only lasted 45 minutes but was in the thick of it throughout. Fired one shot narrowly wide before being on the receiving end of Kelvin Mellor’s kick for the Morecambe red card. Booked for squaring up to Shrimps boss Derek Adams and subsequently hooked to avoid the game being levelled up.

Eoin Doyle 6

Worked his socks off against Morecambe’s centre halves but just couldn’t get in the game. Game was too direct for him early on and then got lost in a sea of Shrimps defenders.
