LITTLE Lever sit nine points clear at the top of early Bolton Cricket League table after making it five wins out of five this season against neighbours Darcy Lever.

Deputy professional Asher Zaidi took 6-25 as the hosts were bowled out for 95.

The leaders then completed a routine 10-wicket victory, Dane Hargreaves (57) and Ayaz Hahif (28) knocking the runs off inside 14 overs.

Westhoughton also recorded a comfortable win against Little Hulton.

Rob Houghton (64) and Matty Morris (40) fell just one run short of a century opening partnership before Marlon Welcome-Goodman also hit 40 and Mark Atherton 30 off 19 balls in their 257-7 batting first.

Kumar Patel (34) and Habib Ur Rehman (33) were Hulton’s main contributors in their 134 all out with Adam Patel and Rob Brown taking four wickets apiece.

Farnworth Social Circle were one of Saturday’s other big winners, seeing off Eagley by 129 runs.

Ryan Ayres (64), James Tierney (51), David Tonge (44) and Chris Barrow 35 from 15 deliveries steered Social Circle to 263-6 despite Adeel Baig taking 4-69.

Harvey Seigne hit 32 in Eagley’s 136, David Dempster taking 4-26.

Zain Abbas (92) and Saif Ur Rehman (35) were the mainstays as Atherton scored 228-7 in their 49-run win at Astley Bridge.

Harsha Rajapaksha took 6-62 for Astley Bridge who then replied with 179, Jack Bentham making 35 of these.

Abbas completed a good all-round performance with 4-38.

Farnworth’s 278 in their 136-run win at Kearsley was largely comprised from the following contributors – Ross Sutton (62), Dan Higham (40), Simon Booth (58) and Matthew Hicks (34).

Tayler Jay-Heyes was Kearsley’s leading wicket taker with 4-67.

Hicks took 3-35 in Kearsley’s 142.

Akbar Ur Rehman led the way with 93 in Walkden’s 166 as they lost by nine wickets at home to Tonge, Shoyab Haji taking 4-27.

Tonge lost an early wicket but then Naseer Ahmed (90) and Hashan Dummindu (62) put on the 163 required for victory.

Lukman Vahaluwala made a half century and Nick Jeff 33 in Lostock’s 185-9 batting first against Horwich. Usman Tariq took 5-62 and Jack Berry 3-48.

Tariq made 67 and Joe Settle 47 early in the Horwich innings but it was Josh Little who took them to a five-wicket victory from a slightly precarious 144-5 with an unbeaten 39, Adam Syddall taking three wickets.
