WANDERERS boss Ian Evatt has praised Sharon Brittan for her 'amazing' interactions with supporters at Atherton Colls.

The Whites’ chairman was in attendance as Evatt’s men continued their pre-season preparations with a 4-0 win on Tuesday night.

Brittan took the time to chat and take pictures with the hundreds of Wanderers fans at the Skuna Stadium.

“It is important we understand there are not many football club owners who would do that,” said the Bolton boss.

“She is a special lady and I am lucky to have her as my boss, but the football club is certainly happy to have her as the owner.”

There is a buzz around the UniBol, with fans excited to see the side back in League One after last season's thrilling promotion.

It is quite a contrast from the scenes nearly two years ago when the club was on the verge of oblivion.

And Evatt is keen to continue rebuilding the relationship between the club and the people of Bolton, despite the challenges of Covid-19.

He added: “That’s something that when I came to the club, it was an ambition of mine to reconnect the club and the town and the community together and its fanbase and be proud of the football club once again.

“I think we’re not there yet but we’ve certainly built some bridges and built some trust and faith and long may that continue.

“We’re going to work really hard once we can get out and about to visit the community, visit schools.

“It’s been impossible in the pandemic but it’s something that I firmly believe in that we want the players to be seen and heard in the community because I think we have a powerful impact.”
