WANDERERS defender Reiss Greenidge is heading on loan to National League side Barnet, according to Football League World.

The 25-year-old – who has been capped by Guyana - made just five appearances for the Whites last season.

There is lots of competition at centre-back following the arrivals of George Johnston and Will Aimson, and Greenidge is yet to feature for Wanderers in pre-season having been away on international duty.

The defender - who came through the ranks at West Brom - arrived at the University of Bolton Stadium last summer following spells with Songdal and Arendal in Norway.

Having struggled to nail down a place in Ian Evatt's first team, a move to non-league could help Greenidge find regular playing time.

Barnet - now managed by former Liverpool and Leeds United winger Harry Kewell - have already made several signings this summer.

The Bees narrowly avoided relegation from the National League last season after Dover Athletic’s season was expunged.
