Barnsley boss Markus Schopp has hinted he will make several changes as the Tykes head to the UniBol in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The Reds kicked off their season with a 1-1 draw at Cardiff City over the weekend thanks to Toby Sibbick’s second-half goal.

And Schopp says he is planning to give some of the players who missed out at the weekend an opportunity in the side.

"It is very likely that some of the guys get a chance to play,” he told the Barnsley Chronicle.

“They will get a couple of minutes, probably a bit more. We will have a good mix of the players who played on Saturday and the players who did not play.

"We have a couple of players who were not 100 per cent fit on the weekend but they are fitter now. There are a couple of positions where I want to see how they are doing, not just in training but in a game."

Barnsley have a poor record against Wanderers in recent years, having failed to win any of the last 12 meetings between the sides.

But Schopp believes his players are ready for Tuesday night’s game.

"We did good research on them,” he nadded. “We know where they are coming from, they had a tremendous season last year.

“It's good for English football to have a team like Bolton coming back. We will be really well-prepared. We will be ready."
