WANDERERS (4-2-3-1).

JOEL DIXON…6.

Beaten by a close-range header, a penalty and a beautiful finish in the bottom corner, so hard to pick holes. One brave save at Assal’s feet in the second half.

GETHIN JONES…5.

Quite effective going forward at times but defensively he didn’t look comfortable when Wimbledon’s front men ran at him directly.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.

The only member of the back four who looked anything like himself on the day. A few uncharacteristic panicky clearances but otherwise a solid game.

ALEX BAPTISTE…5.5.

As brave as ever but there were a few mis-steps – which in his defence have been rare since he forged the partnership with Santos back in January.

DECLAN JOHN…5.

Like Jones on the right, there was a vulnerability about Bolton down the left. The Welshman appeared to be carrying an injury in the second half.

MJ WILLIAMS…6.

Tidy enough in possession but not nearly as effective as he had been against MK Dons and Barnsley. Felt over-run in the more frantic stages of the game.

JOSH SHEEHAN…7.5.

Finished off one of the best Bolton goals for ages and always looks keen to get himself into the box. If he can match that with his defensive responsibilities, then he’ll have cracked it.

AMADOU BAKAYOKO…6.5.

Still forging partnerships on the pitch, in particular with Jones, but his work in the build up to the third goal shows he has got plenty to offer.

ANTONI SARCEVIC…6.5.

Always in the thick of it – Sarcevic had a strong first half but his influence fell away a bit after the break.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…6.5.

His manager has been calling for him to get to the back post and after missing his cue a couple of times, he obliged for the third. Great Jay Jay celebration too.

EOIN DOYLE…7.

Scored the penalty and will wonder how the keeper stopped him getting a second. Illness cost Doyle five weeks of pre-season but this was a step in the right direction.

Subs: Johnston 74 (for John), Isgrove 79 (for Bakayoko), Kachunga 79 (for Afolayan).

Not used: Gilks, Lee, Brockbank, Thomason.

Wimbledon: Tzanev; Alexander, Heneghan, Nightingale, G-Walker; Woodyard, Hartigan; Rudoni, Assal, McCormick; Palmer.

Subs: Mebude 63 (for McCormick), Pressley 64 (for Palmer), Lawrence 68 (for Guinness-Walker).

Not used: Marsh, Chislett, Kalambayi, Oualah.

Made some puzzling calls and missed an obvious trip on Doyle, which would have given him a chance to score the fourth from the spot.
