ALI Crawford is keen to see out the rest of his Bolton Wanderers contract on loan with St Johnstone.

The midfielder has rediscovered his form since being loaned out to the Scottish Premiership side at the end of August, scoring a winner at Dundee United at the weekend.

Crawford has become a key player under Callum Davidson but is currently due to return to the UniBol in January.

Ian Evatt has insisted the door would not be closed on the 30-year-old despite his struggles to get into the team in League Two last season, which resulted in a loan to Tranmere Rovers.

And though the prospect of a rejuvenated Crawford in the New Year may well appeal to the Bolton supporters, given the club’s recent struggles in front of goal, the prospect looks unlikely given the player’s determination to stay in Scotland.

“The loan is until January but I’m hopeful that it will get extended until the end of the season,” he told The Courier.

“I’m enjoying my football here. Hopefully I can keep popping with goals and help us climb the league.

“I 100 per cent want to stay but unfortunately it’s not down to me.

“If the club want to keep me until the end of the season I’ll be more than delighted to do that.”
