DAISY Hill will be looking to start a busy November fixtures programme with a win against Steeton in their North West Counties League First Division North clash at New Sirs today (3pm).

After the disappointment of having last Saturday’s game against Ilkley Town off, the clash with Keighley- based Steeton is the first of seven games in November for Daisy in both league and cup, and manager Leighton Mills is looking forward to having a full squad available for what will be a testing series of games.

“We’ve got a big November and December coming up and if we are going to be serious about getting in the play-off places, which I am, the next two months are crucial”, said Mills.

“We have got some key players back now.

“Club captain Jordan Cover is fit and got a full 90 minutes at Holker in our last game, and Connor Hughes is flying, he’s got four goals in four games and was our nominated player of the month for October.

“Jake O’Brien has been playing really well, too, and has assisted in three of Connor’s goals over the past three games.

“So with a mixture of players coming back and in form, it’s looking good for us.

“As long as we are in the top 10 at the turn of the year, we are in a good place to go and get in the play-offs. That’s how we are looking at it, and a win on Saturday would be a perfect start to a busy few weeks”.
