WANDERERS (4-3-3).

JOEL DIXON…5.

Made a brave save from Sarcevic in the first half but looked swamped as cross after cross was peppered into his penalty box. Didn’t look in control at all.

LLOYD ISGROVE…4.5.

Gave away the penalty, which gave Wanderers the collywobbles at a time where they were dominating the game.

RICARDO ALMEIDA SANTOS…8.

Literally the only Bolton Wanderers player who can leave Edgeley Park knowing he has done his job well. Couldn’t do it alone, though.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…3.5.

Completely absent at times when the Whites needed another leader at the back. Use of the ball was poor as well, which is quite out of character.

DECLAN JOHN…4.

Couldn’t get a hold of Southam-Hales and stop Stockport’s supply line. Rarely got forward to support Afolayan, either, which made him look isolated.

JOSH SHEEHAN…5.

Forced off just before the break with what looked like a knee injury. Did well enough in the build-up to Bolton’s second.

KIERAN LEE…4.

A player with his experience should not have looked lost on the pitch. Meant to be rested – and faded badly in the last half an hour.

GEORGE THOMASON…4.5.

Effort, which unlike some of his team-mates continued into extra time, but the quality just wasn’t there.

ELIAS KACHUNGA…4.

His early goal should have fired him up for more. But aside from being booked for simulation in the second half, barely warranted another mention.

AMADOU BAKAYOKO…4.5.

Profited from some woeful defending to score Bolton’s third and made a nuisance of himself for about 45 minutes. Dropped off badly after that.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…4.

Got very little service but looked to have been put off his stride by an elbow in the face early on. Much, much better than this.
