THE wintry weather put paid to a lot of plans for Lostock AC members at the weekend as Storm Arwen battered the country and forced the cancellation of several events.

One such victim was Haigh Hall Parkrun which was abandoned due to fallen trees.

However, it was not all doom and gloom as four hardy Green Vests did manage to compete on Sunday on the streets of Wilmslow to tackle the festive 10k.

It would appear the quartet of Lostockers - Barry Wroe, Emma Wroe, Johanna McManus and Hazel Hatfield - run exceptionally well in bad weather.

Hatfield and McManus both recorded personal-best times finishing in 44mins 36secs and 45:00 respectively.

Barry Wroe came home in 51:52 and Emma Wroe clocked 53:42 despite the cold conditions.
