BOLTON boxer Jack Cullen is confident he can claim a European title tonight when he takes to the ring at the Ao Arena in Manchester.

‘Little Lever’s Meat Cleaver’ clashes with 31-year-old Frenchman Kevin Lele Sadjo on the undercard of Joseph Parker’s rematch with Derek Chisora for the vacant EBU European Super-Middleweight crown.

And after an impressive unanimous points victory last time out in July, when he won the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) International Super Middleweight title against Avni Yildirim, the 28-year-old is brimming with confidence despite a late change of opponent for this weekend pitting him now against a man with 16 wins from 16 fights, 14 by way of knockout.

Cullen told Matchroom Boxing: “I proved to everyone that night in July I am not just a scrapper, I can box as well - on the front foot or the back.

“It was one of my biggest fights but also one of my easiest the way I fought and I was pleased with how I did.

“Now it’s another big opportunity.

“It is every boxer’s dream to fight for a European title.

“I am taking this chance with both hands and going for it.

“I am looking forward to getting in there and showing everyone how good I am again.

“On December 18 it will be ‘Jack Cullen - new European champion’.”

Cullen has lost just two of his 23 professional bouts and will be back, as usual, by huge home town support in Manchester with around 1,000 fans from Little Lever expected to be providing noisy vocal backing.

For fans not attending, it will be screened live on DAZN.
