WANDERERS may have hit a stumbling block in their efforts to sign Jon Dadi Bodvarsson from Millwall.

Ian Evatt wants the Iceland international on loan and had hoped to have the deal done by the end of this week to enable him to play against Shrewsbury Town.

A knee injury sustained by Millwall front man Tom Bradshaw in their weekend home defeat to Nottingham Forest could yet be a factor in Gary Rowett allowing the 29-year-old to leave The Den.

Speaking after Saturday’s game, Rowett also said there had not yet been an offer of sufficient value to convince the club to let Bodvarsson move on to the end of the season.

Wanderers are believed to have made an offer last week but some reports claim another League One side has also enquired about the striker.

Asked if Bradshaw’s injury alters his plans, Rowett told The South London Press.

"No, not really. Jon's been away with the Icelandic national team in a kind of unofficial two-game tournament, which he has scored and done quite well in it.

"When I say it doesn't affect it, there is nothing to affect it at the moment. We haven't had anything sufficient enough to decide we want to let anyone go out the door at the moment.

"We'll have to sit down and give that some consideration now, being light in those areas.”

Millwall are waiting to see the extent of the damage to Bradshaw’s knee, and midfielder Sheyi Ojo, who rolled his ankle in the same game, before deciding their next move on Bodvarsson.

Rowett said: "We'll see what the scans come back, if both are going to be out for a considerable period - it's a bitter blow because we've got Ryan Leonard and Dan Ballard out for a while. Every time we seem to get a little bit of momentum this season, something comes up to drive us back into the ground."

Millwall have been fending off interest from Nottingham Forest for winger Jed Wallace in the January window, as Rowett is already trying to add at least one attacking player to his squad.

Should Bradshaw’s injury be as serious as it was feared at the weekend, the chances of Bodvarsson joining Bolton this week would surely decrease.
