WANDERERS could send Ronan Darcy back out on loan this month, if they find the right club.
The midfielder returned in December from a spell in Norwegian football with Sogndal with the hope of helping an injury-hit squad but was frustratingly made to wait for his international clearance over Christmas.
Darcy did feature briefly in the 2-0 defeat against Wycombe but was not in the squad on Saturday and may now be sent out to gain more first team experience elsewhere - with the preference being an English club in League Two.
Speaking at the weekend Ian Evatt said he had not made a firm decision on the academy graduate’s future.
Asked if Darcy was heading out on loan, he added: “Maybe, maybe not. We will see what happens in January. There are still a couple of weeks in this month and things change day to day.”
Meanwhile, Evatt has confirmed that winger Xav Amaechi is unlikely to feature in the squad at Shrewsbury this weekend.
The former Arsenal man has damaged his hamstring and still needs time to recover.
“He won’t be ready for Saturday but he is doing really well, though,” said the Bolton boss. “His hamstring is progressing well. I would think he’ll be a couple of weeks away.”
Amaechi has made eight appearances for Wanderers so far, scoring once, and extended his loan deal from Hamburg to the end of the season.
