WANDERERS boss Ian Evatt is expecting “a tactical battle” when his side head to MK Dons this weekend.

Liam Manning’s men are unbeaten in their last seven matches and currently sit third in the League One table.

Evatt admits his side might not be able to dominate possession like they have done at times this season.

But the Bolton boss is confident they will create chances in the final third and insists their pace can cause the Dons’ back line problems.

“I think it’s going to be a good game, a challenging game. I think it’s going to be a real technical game and tactical battle,” he said.

“We might not have the majority of the ball, we might have to play a slightly different style and play a little bit on transitions and counter-attacks.

“But one thing we’ve got in the team right now is serious pace and energy. I’ve said many times, speed kills defences, I don’t care who you are, what level you play at.

“Speed hurts you as a defender and we’ve got that in abundance, so we’ll try to utilise that as best we can in the key moments.

“And if we can take our chances as we have been doing, we’ve got a real chance of winning the game.”

Wanderers are currently 10th in the table – five points behind sixth-placed Sunderland as they aim to make a late push for the play-offs.

Evatt’s men have won eight of their last 10 league matches ahead of Saturday’s game, scoring 25 goals in the process.
