WANDERERS (3-4-1-2)

JAMES TRAFFORD…6.5.

Learned a few lessons from Burton and kept a better control of his area at set pieces, coming to collect a few crosses to take the pressure off.

WILL AIMSON…7.

Won plenty in the air and gradually got better moving the ball out from the back. Not his natural side – but you really couldn’t tell.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.5.

Won twice as much in the air as anyone else on the pitch. A big captain’s performance against opponents who looked like they could cause him issues.

GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.

Once he had helped bunker down in the first half to protect the goal, Johnston revelled in the opportunity to roam and link up with the midfield.

MARLON FOSSEY…8.5.

His last couple of games had lacked a bit of spark but this was a big return to form. Created two goals and left Gillingham wondering how to handle him.

AARON MORLEY…7.5.

What a way to open your account. Asked for the ball, took risks, was always brave and positive in possession. Very strong showing.

MJ WILLIAMS…7.5.

Some had questioned if Williams’ form was on the wane this season – but this was a pretty unequivocal ‘no’. Loads of energy, always on the ball.

DECLAN JOHN…8.

Scored one, would have had a second but for an unfortunate block from his own team-mate. The Welsh full-back is in a rich vein of form at the moment.

DAPO AFOLAYAN…7.

Gillingham looked to kick him off the park. Dapo will take it as a compliment. Got into some good positions and fired off some arrow-like passes.

JON DADI BODVARSSON…7.5.

Worked very hard to press the Gillingham back line and linked play well. Deserved to finish off a commanding performance with a goal.

DION CHARLES…6.5.

Will be kicking himself for missing a couple of good chances in the first half but kept chasing to better the team’s cause.
