WANDERERS forward Dapo Afolayan has been named in FourFourTwo’s top 50 players in the Football League.

Each year, the list highlights the best players from the Championship, League One and League Two.

Afolayan has been ranked at 35th, putting him above the likes of Wigan’s Will Keane and Oxford’s Cameron Brannigan.

Cole Stockton, Ross Stewart, Michael Smith and Scott Twine are the only League One players above the Bolton man in the list.

The number one spot went to Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, with Ben Brereton Diaz and Harry Wilson also making the top three.

Afolayan is the Whites’ top scorer this season, having found the net 13 times in 45 appearances so far.

He has been one of Wanderers’ most consistent performers since the start of the campaign, despite being used in several roles.

Afolayan could be involved as Ian Evatt’s men head to the DW Stadium to take on Wigan this weekend.

The Latics are currently second in the League One table – one point behind leaders Rotherham, who have played two extra games.
